The Call

Cheers ETS

Do you remember what you were doing the day you received that phone call or e-mail from an editor who wanted to turn your beloved manuscript into an honest to goodness book?   For me, that moment was like finally grabbing hold of the brass ring on a whirling merry-go-round… and then hanging on for dear life!

So many things happen afterThe Call…websites, portrait sessions, editing, cover art fact sheets(ack!)…sometimes when you’ve been working hard for years it’s even harder to sit back and bask in the glow of accomplishment.  It’s all too easy to immediately begin working even harder as The Call brings with it the white-hot desire to sell another and then another. (Selling manuscripts is a lot like opening up a fresh bag of potato chips.  Crunch-a-licious, baby!  One is never enough;>)

Here at EtS, we’d like to stop the merry-go-round for a few moments each weekend to focus on those special First Sale  stories that provide such inspiration to us all.  Doesn’t matter if your First Sale was last week or last year, we want to hear about The Call.   We’d even like to show off your cover and a link to your website or blog.

So, come on, bask a little!  Let us pour you a glass of cyber-champagne.

Cheers!

If you’d like to share the story of your First Sale with us, please send a paragraph or two to barbara@barbarajhancock.com  Be sure to include your website link.
